55 joint statement was published in the Clarke Courier; “No effort has ever been spared in giving the people of Clarke County and surrounding communities ample and complete banking service. In announcing that plans have been completed for the union of the Boyce State Bank and the Bank of Clarke County, we are, in reality, announcing that enlarged banking facilities have been supplied at both Berryville and Boyce . . . banking rooms will be maintained at both towns in the buildings long occupied by the above mentioned banks.” As a result of the merger, Boyce State Bank directors Mr. Kenneth N. Gilpin, Mr. Henry P. Mitchell and Mr. J. G. Burch were added to the Bank of Clarke County Board. Additionally, Dr. Carroll H. Iden, a local physician, replaced Mr. H. B. Whiting, who resigned. Mr. Ralph N. Dorsey was appointed a director as well.
