He was well known and highly respected not only in our community, but in the surrounding counties and our state, and all of this was an invaluable asset to our institution of which we were proud to have him as a director. Many were those who went to Mr. Clagett with their problems and always he was sympathetic, understanding and helpful and proved himself to be a friend of everyone. The success and advancement of this bank was constantly in his mind and he never failed to do all he could toward the growth of this institution. It will be difficult as a community to ever fill his place with us. This departed Christian gentleman was a very proud and sympathetic father to his son Bill and Family, all of whom he dearly loved; to his step-children; and possessed a deep love for his sister Mrs. Mary Warden.
